Who We Are?

Non-Profit Organization

The Center for Living & Learning is a 501c3 nonprofit organization which relies solely on vehicle donations to do its good work. Proceeds from your vehicle donation make it possible for us to offer our transition-to-work program (among other services). We provide 18 month paid apprenticeships, that include job and computer training to individuals in recovery, youth at risk, welfare to work and other disadvantaged individuals. Our program has been so successful, that the entire organization is currently run completely by graduates of our apprenticeship program. All of our employees are either apprentices, or are now mentors who use their valuable skills learned through our program. Every department at Center for Living and Learning is managed by a graduate, including our computer training room. We are very proud of our success! Employment Assistance

The Center for Living and Learning recently began providing job search preparation assistance to individuals with barriers to employment, who are transitioning into independent living. Since we are not able to provide our paid apprenticeship program to all who apply, we are now assisting those individuals in obtaining other employment. Car donation dollars really do go far with our experience and understanding!

Diverse Charity Activities

We also help other charities in need with the auction proceeds from your charity car donation. When the tsunami occurred, we helped Doctors Without Borders. When Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast, we responded immediately with large cash contributions to American Red Cross for immediate aid, Habitat For Humanity for rebuilding efforts in the areas hit, and SPCA LA for their work in rescuing animals trapped in the disaster areas. So, you can see that as a vehicle donation charity, we not only make an impact locally, but we also strive to make a difference nationally. This is why we are motivated to make it easy for you to donate an auto to our charity.
